Timberlake, who recently released 'Future Sex/Love Sounds' as a follow-up to his smash debut, 'Justified', will moonwalk across the stage as well as overseeing proceedings when the show gets underway on 2 November.
MTV organisers decided to hold a public party at Town Hall Square, where 10,000 fans can rock through the night and follow the televised show in the Bella Centre auditorium across town, where special guests are invited.
Although only two music acts, Nelly Furtado and Muse, have been confirmed, the chances of other top acts joining the show are good. Last year's show featured a top act by the name of Madonna.
